Going Home

We spent the night with my friend Jean. Her and I started school together and that was a very long time ago. She has a farm not far from Saskatoon. It was nice to see her and get caught up.

This morning we headed into town to meet up with another friend Kay. We have been friends for many years. Twyla and her daughter, Charlene went to school together in Saskatoon. Kay coached their soft ball team and also their bowling team. We were all involved in the kids sports back then. We remained in touch after we moved to Calgary. After breakfast we stopped in to have a quick visit with Charlene at her place of work. Here are the three generations. The little one is Charlene's grandchild.

Then it was off to Kinistino which is where I was born and raised. We headed straight to my cousin Judy and her husband Larry's farm where we will be staying for the next few days.

Her son Theran, his wife Heidi and kids Parker and Skylar arrived.

As well as another cousin (also named Cheryl) and her husband Bruce arrived. I have not seen Cheryl for more years than we could count.

Judy and Larry's grandson Parker was determined to sit on Grampa Smokes quad. That is how he differentiates between his two sets of grandparents. One set is grandma and grandpa. Judy and Larry are grandma and grandpa smokes because they smoke. It is funny as hell. "Come here Grampa Smokes". " can I sit on your quad Grampa Smokes?". " what's Gramma Smokes doing? Smokin'". We laughed like crazy.

A great evening of stories and memories. Tomorrow we will all be gathering for a Cousin Reunion at a lake not far from here.

Until next time - safe travels.
