The day could not have turned out better. The sun really shone on the Leonard family today.
We headed over to the lake this morning. Twyla already had the big gazebo that we had rented open and ready to go. Her, Joe, Karmen and Jake had arrived last night and had their trailer set up close by. Joe is a chemical engineer in the oil industry. He was at work when were visiting their place so this is the first we have seen him this trip.
Before long others started to arrive. The food and the coolers of refreshments just kept coming. There were close to 60 relatives attend our gathering. It was so fabulous to see so many that I have not seen in years.
Cousin Carla is a teacher. Here she is with her husband Barry and daughter Lauren. Lauren sings, plays the guitar and the violin. her and her cousin Kasia entertained us later in the evening.
Cousin Renee, her husband Wendell and daughters Nikeda, Mikailla and Kasia. Kasia was the other entertainer for the evening. She has a beautiful voice and plays several instruments. Her and two other young people have a band called "In With The Old". They entertain all over the province. They just recently had their first CD produced for sale.
Cousin Diane and husband Barrie are both retired teachers. I have not seen them for many, many years. They travel extensively all over the world. It was nice to hear some of their adventures.
Cousin Tim, his wife Tammie and kids Landon and Lexi. Tim played hockey in his youth and it is his passion. When he got hired as a full time coach for a midget AAA hockey team it was his dream come true. Tammie teaches school.
Cousin Ken, his wife Brenda and kids Clela and Gina. Ken and Brenda both worked for many years in the potash industry and have both recently retired. Time to enjoy life and their girls.
Cousin Terry, wife Sherril, sons Brennan and Chad and granddaughter Karter. Terry is an electrician working in the mining industry and Sherril is a top executive with a major government agency.
Cousin Jim is a consultant with a major pipe line company.
Cousin Bill farms plus works in the oil and gas industry during the winter.
Cousin Dennis and his wife Fae farm.
I tried to get family pictures of all but couldn't manage to capture them all together at one time. So missed a few but caught them in random pictures.
We had games going. Baseball, football, ladder toss, bocce ball, etc. The kids made good use of the beach.
The adults made good use of the coolers. We had snacks throughout the afternoon and an awesome pot luck dinner.
I will continue this on a second blog to get more pictures posted.
